Jermaine Dupri found the R&B quintet Xscape and quickly added the following group to his then-new record company, So So Def Recordings. She received two Soul Train Music Awards as a part of the ensemble, including the A-Town Music Award for Best Duo/ensemble, Best New R&B Artist, and Best R&B Album. After the publication of Xscape’s third record, Traces of My Lipstick, in 1998, the band broke up.
She shared a Grammy Award with Kandi Burruss, another former Xscape group member, for TLC’s smash song “No Scrubs.” Her other honors include an ASCAP Rap Award and an American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers Award.
