She didn’t want him to drop it like it’s hot.
Snoop Dogg has revealed that he abandoned plans to drop trou on the popular adult subscription platform OnlyFans because of his wife.
“They were like, ‘OnlyFans wants you to come on there, Snoop. You could do about $100 million. All you gotta do is pull that thang out,'” the rapper, 52, told actor Slink Johnson on Jonson’s Instagram Live show “Wake & Bake with Double S Express.”
Snoop Dogg wouldn’t be the first prominent rapper or actor to appear on the adult platform, as rapper Iggy Azalea, 33, and former “The Sopranos” star Drea de Matteo, 51, have also found success on OnlyFans.
“I figured, ‘OK, so everybody’s in their underwear and being sexy on Instagram and I don’t do that, but I can do that and get paid for it.’ … I don’t know why I didn’t think of this sooner,” de Matteo said in September.
But, Snoop Dogg (nee Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr.) said he had to turn down the opportunity because, “Ain’t no way in the world she gonna allow me to go on there and pull that thang out for no amount of money.”
His wife, Shante Broadus, 52, has been with him since the two were teenagers at Long Beach Polytechnic High School in California.
“I was there with him when he started all this,” Broadus told W Magazine in 2021.
“Even before he came out [as a musician], our friends and I were his fans. We would always listen to his songs and give our opinions. When he became popular, I was still helping them with deals and offers.”
They tied the knot in 1997, and have three children: Corde, 29, Cordell, 26, and daughter Cori, 24, who recently had a health scare and suffered a severe stroke. (He also has a son, Julian, 25, from a previous relationship.)
Snoop Dogg and his wife are also grandparents, since Corde has sons Zion and Leo and daughter Elleven. Corde also had another son who died as a baby in 2019.
Snoop Dogg and his wife briefly split in 2004.
“I thought I was the man, and I was willing to give up what I had at home for that, until I realized that what I had at home was irreplaceable,” he told People in 2007.
After reconciling, they renewed their vows in 2008, and she became his manager in 2021.
In a press release announcing the news, Snoop Dogg said, “Shante has been guiding my career behind the scenes from day one. She has always been my final gut check with all my decisions, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without her.”
